Getting Started
Introduction
What is Sysmos and why should you use it for monitoring your infrastructure.
Why Sysmos?
Modern infrastructure spans multiple services, regions, and layers. Traditional monitoring tools force you to stitch together separate solutions for uptime checks, server metrics, and alerting. Sysmos unifies all of this.
The Problem
- Blind spots — Your API is up in us-east-1 but down in eu-west-1, and you don't know until customers complain.
- Surface-level metrics — CPU and memory aren't enough. You need kernel-level visibility into network connections, disk I/O, and process behavior.
- Alert fatigue — Disconnected tools mean duplicate alerts, missed incidents, and slow response times.
The Sysmos Solution
| Capability | What It Does |
|---|---|
| Multi-Region API Monitoring | Health checks from distributed workers across global regions |
| eBPF Server Agent | Kernel-level observability with under 2% CPU overhead |
| Unified Dashboard | Single view for all metrics, alerts, and infrastructure health |
| Smart Alerts | Multi-channel notifications with cooldown and deduplication |
| Flow Automation | Visual API workflow builder for automated testing chains |
Key Design Principles
- Low overhead — The server agent targets less than 2% host CPU usage
- Offline resilience — Local buffering ensures no data loss during network interruptions
- Open architecture — REST APIs, gRPC, and webhook integrations for extensibility
- Multi-tenant — Organization-based access control with granular permissions
